Within the framework of ERASMUS+, we offer geosciences students the opportunity to take part in subject-specific exchange programmes at several partner universities.

Sie…
- are enrolled in a course geosciences (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) at the University Jena that leads to a university degree (up to and including a doctorate).
- have completed at least your first year of study.
- have sufficient knowledge of the respective national or working language in which the courses to be attended are held (usually language level B1).

The website of the International Office provides all information about the application documents and application procedure.
Please submit the application documents as loose sheets of paper (possibly in a foil).
Hinweise zum Sprachnachweis
- Ideally, you should already have the required language level of the teaching language at the time of application, but at the latest before commencing your studies abroad.
- The Institute of Geosciences offers an optional language course "English for Geoscientists"External link every winter semester. The course is open to Bachelor's and Master's students as well as to doctoral candidates. Students who are interested in an Erasmus stay abroad are strongly recommended to participate in this course.
- The Language Centre also offers language courses in: English, Finnish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Czech etc. Inform yourself early!

Selection criteria and weighting
Motivation: 30%
Language skills: 30%
Academic achievement: 30% (credit points achieved so far 50%, average grade 50%)
Form of application: 10%
The way forward
- Interested students should apply by 15 January.
- Suitable students will be selected in the department and informed in writing about the success of the application.
- Selected students will inform the International Office of their acceptance (see Declaration of Acceptance)
- Students are then reported to the International Office of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and to the respective partner university. The latter usually contacts the students directly.
- Selected students fill in the corresponding "Erasmus applications forms" of the host university (mostly online forms and available from March/April on the website of the host university)
- The International Bureau will explain further procedures and offers an orientation meeting at the beginning of the summer semester (invitation will be sent by e-mail by the Internaitonal Office)
