At the end of November, Jena came alive with curiosity and discovery during the much-anticipated Long Night of Science. This citywide event brought together researchers, institutions, and the public for an evening dedicated to exploring the wonders of science, technology, and innovation.
Our group hosted a stand focused on green hydrogen technology, where visitors explored its potential as a clean energy source through demonstrations and expert discussions. Attendees had the opportunity to drive a model car powered by a hydrogen fuel cell or view a model baggie reactor for photocatalytic water splitting. Additionally, group members showcased the possibility of storing hydrogen using formic acid. These hands-on experiments and engaging discussions around green hydrogen and our water splitting research drew enthusiastic crowds, fostering an atmosphere of curiosity and inspiration.
The Long Night of Science remains a cornerstone of Jena's commitment to making science accessible and inspiring for all. We were thrilled to participate in this event and share our work. See you again in two years!
