Joy, pride and excitement: A mixture of these emotions prevailed in the well-filled auditorium of Friedrich Schiller University on the morning of 22 November 2024. This was the day of this year's graduation ceremony of the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences. Programme with Music, lectures, award ceremonies and presentation of certificates
Dean Prof Dr Nina Kukowski began by welcoming the graduates and their affiliates. This was followed by the presentation of the examination and doctoral thesis prizes. The prizewinners gave short presentations to provide an insight into their research work.
Finally, the highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates: hosted by Dean of Studies Prof. Dr Sebastian Henn, Dr Kristina Dubnack from the Office for Student Affairs and Examinations, together with the Chair of the Examinations Committee, presented the graduates of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes with decorative certificates. The doctoral students received their certificates from Dean Prof Dr Nina Kukowski and Faculty Managing Director Claudia Recke.
The "Quintetto Abbraccio" provided the musical accompaniment this year. After the official programme, the graduates and their guests had the opportunity to round off the ceremony with a glass of sparkling wine or orange juice and take souvenir photos with gowns and hats.
