The transition to a sustainable energy future relies heavily on the rapid advancement and implementation of innovative solar energy solutions.
As research and development in photovoltaics surges, the sheer volume of scientific publications creates challenges in efficiently harnessing the latest findings. The SOL-AI initiative aims to revolutionize materials informatics in the field by developing a comprehensive foundation model that integrates diverse experimental data and results.

SOL-AI will enable accelerated device development, optimization, and the discovery of novel solar materials, with practical applications for both research and industry.

This project brings together experts from Forschungszentrum Jülich, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin für Materialien und Energie, and Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon to drive advancements in photovoltaics and contribute to a greener, more sustainable world.

The project is supported as part of the 23M Euro investment of Helmholtz into AIExternal link

Kevin will co-lead the AI component of this project.
